South Secession
The South Secession started when South Carolina made the call to want a convention to Secede from the Union. Over time, more and more conventions occurred in a ton of states. This led to Confederacy forming. While Lincoln was president, three months in seven states have seceded from the Union.
December 20, 1860 a vote of 169-0 executed an “ordinance” affected the name of the United States and the states that are apart of the United States. February 4th 1860 the North began to respond to the meeting of the delegates in Montgomery, Alabama. Senator James Henry Crittenden forced to extend property lines and push things to the Pacific Ocean. If you were North of the line he drew you would be considered a “free citizen” and if you were South of the line you than receive federal protection for slavery.
