Missouri Compromise
This was federal statute in the United States that regulated slavery in the countries western territories. The compromise was held by Henry Clay was agreed to by the proslavery and antislavery factions in the United States congress and passed as a law as in 1820. It prohibited slavery in the former Louisiana territory north of the latitude 36,30 north, except within the boundaries of the proposed state of Missouri. The compromise was great affected by the by the Kansas-Nebraska which was submitted by Stephen A.Douglas in 1854. The act opened slavery and future admissions of slave states by allowing white male settlers in those territories.
